TRICALVENTION RULES
Rules for 'TRI(CAL)VENTION'
(Named after the inventor Edwin Calow, past chairman and president)
1. All three Clubs to take part in the showing of Films or Videos and each to provide 3 Judges.
2. Each Club to show TWO entries each of no longer duration than 15 minutes.
3. Each Club to nominate the 3 Judges from their membership. Each Judge to allocate One point to the film or video of their choice.
4. Order of showing and judging:
Clubs to be nominated by letters 'A', 'B' and 'C' and will be drawn by lots.
(i) Club 'A' shows first Film/Video as does Club'B'. Club 'C' Judges.
(ii) Club 'B' shows second Film/Video, Club 'C' shows first entry.
Club 'A' Judges.
(iii) Club 'C' shows second Film/Video, Club 'A' shows second entry.
Club 'B' Judges.
5. The three heats to be played immediately following one another after which an interval will take place. During the interval each Judge to prepare remarks and points awarded to the film of their choice. These must NOT be disclosed to the fellow Judges of their Club.
6. After the interval, each trio of Judges will give their remarks on the Film/Video seen and state how their points were awarded. Points will be marked up for all to see.
7. Explanation of scoring:
(i) There are 3 teams each having 3 Judges each Judge will award 1 point, hence, there will be a total of 9 points available.
(ii) As each team competes twice, the most any team can score is 6, in which event they are the winners.
(iii) Should a team score 5, they will be the winners as this will leave 4 points to be shared by the other teams.
(iv) Should a team score 4, they will be the winners as the remaining points will be shared 2 and 3 by the other teams.
(v) The only other scenario is for each team to score three points apiece in which case there would be no winner but hopefully everyone will have had an enjoyable evening.
10. A certificate will be awarded to the winning team. This will be prepared before the meeting with the name of the winning team being endorsed upon it at the end of the meeting.
